donate-button-jpgInterFaith Works of Central New York provides services that address the needs of and empower people who are vulnerable, low income and targets of oppression. Through education, service and dialogue, our mission is to affirm the dignity of each person and every faith community and to create relationships and understanding among us.

Your gift to InterFaith Works’ Annual Appeal supports our Center for New Americans, El-Hindi Center for Dialogue, Senior Services and Spiritual Care Programs.

Click on the videos below to learn how InterFaith Works changed the life of Bonke Rugira, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a facilitator in the El-Hindi Center for Dialogue’s high school exchange program.

Bonke Rugira explains how the El-Hindi Center for Dialogue changed his and other teens’ lives when they joined a high school exchange.

Bonke Rugira discusses his journey as a refugee and his new life in the United States.

Since resettling its first refugee family in Syracuse in 1981, IFW has grown into a multi-faceted organization serving thousands of individuals each year. Yet, we have always lived under the aegis of someone else. Currently, IFW’s administrative offices and program services are located in two separate locations, creating inefficiencies and limiting our potential for growth as an organization.

After a long search process and careful analysis, we have found a home at 1010 James Street in Syracuse that will command respect and position the agency for the important work ahead. With your support, our new headquarters will be more than just a building. It will be a home for our programs and for the important work of dialogue. Your investment will create a welcoming space for people of all faiths to share their stories and traditions. It will create a hub for community members to meet and use the tools of dialogue to address problems rooted in racism and religious and ethnic bigotry. Your investment will help establish a beacon for refugees who are eager to start their new lives and become contributing citizens. It will strengthen our ability to provide companionship and spiritual care to thousands of institutionalized and frail elderly individuals in Central New York.

Your investment will strengthen the health of our community and ensure that InterFaith Works is here for future generations.
