InterFaith Works invites you to join us on Monday, June 20, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m., at our administrative offices, 1010 James St., Syracuse, for an open house celebrating World Refugee Day.

Festivities will be held in the Room of Common Ground, featuring storytelling, dance and music with staff, Refugee Resettlement program clients and participants, and supporting faith and community leaders. You may learn about the cultures of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, Bhutan, Burma, Syria and many more.

You may also help contribute to the Rice and Spice food drive by donating ingredients that make up this favorite ethnic dish. Follow this link for a list of ingredients and needs.

In 2000, the United Nations General Assembly established June 20 as an annual celebration of World Refugee Day. Since 2001, people around the world have celebrated the day with events that honor the world’s more than 16 million refugees and raise awareness around refugee issues.
