Session 7: Community Leaders Respond

Originally aired on: Jan 3, 2006
WCNY-TV: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
WCNY2: 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Tonight we have invited community leaders from many different sectors of the community to join us in a panel to respond to the circle. The leaders are:

  • Imam Taqiuddin Ahmed, Islamic Society of Central New York
  • Dr. Maritza Alvarado, Director, Spanish Action League
  • Mr. Bill Byrne, CEO, Byrne Dairy
  • Mr. Calvin Corridors, President, Syracuse City School Board
  • Reverend Dr. Ronald Davis, Hopps Memorial AME Church
  • Chief Gary Miguel, Syracuse City Police Department
  • Mr. Nicholas "Nick" Pirro, Onondaga County Executive

We will be asking them three key questions:

  • What are your reactions to the circle that you have just seen on WCNY-TV?
  • Where do you think we are as a community in terms of ending racism and improving race relations?
  • Where do we go from here?

What do you think? We would love to hear about it, let us know.
