Dr. Indu Gupta, MPH

InterFaith Works presents the 25th Annual Spiritual Care Day – “Overcoming Barriers to Healthcare: What Spiritual Caregivers Need to Know.” The event will be held on Thursday, October 22, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Crouse Hospital-Marley Education Center, 765 Irving Ave., Syracuse.

Keynote speaker, Onondaga County Commissioner of Health, Indu Gupta MD, MPH, will discuss the role of the Spiritual caregiver in healthcare. She believes that treating the whole person is essential to healing and that Spiritual care can be an important part of the process.

Following Dr. Gupta’s presentation, four breakout groups, facilitated by local experts, will discuss overcoming barriers to maternal and infant healthcare, ethnic and cultural healthcare, senior citizen healthcare and mental wellness healthcare.

Registration is $30 ($25 age 62 or older), which covers all stages of the event, including a full buffet breakfast at 8 a.m. This event is open to all.
