Benefits:

• Your school has a chance to win a Diversity Resource Library, or a live performance if your duck wins the race.
• Your classroom will receive a realistic-sized plastic duck to decorate and free curriculum materials about promoting racial justice and understanding.
• You will be able to get public exposure for your school through having a duck in the Duck Race.
• Your classroom and your school will be seen by the community as part of the overall effort to bring about racial justice.
• Your school club or PTO can sell small rubber duckies and half the money will come back to your school for your programs.

Expectations:

• Pick up your duck and other materials on or after Friday, April 3, 2009.
• Decorate your duck and get it back to CWD by Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
• Help us promote the Duck Race, including inviting the families of the children in your classroom. CWD will provide invitations for you to send home in your students’ backpacks.
• Promote racial and ethnic tolerance and understanding in your classroom.
• Teacher, Parent and/or Administrator from the school and at least one child (if not all!) from the classroom to represent your duck and accept the prize if you win.
